The review, available to be booked from today, has been developed using the 103-year-old charity’s occupational safety and health expertise in risk assessment and will be provided at cost price.

It will reassure employers as they seek to adhere to the Government’s COVID-19 Secure guidelines for reopening their premises, and provide peace of mind to members of the public who use their services. It can also be used by schools as they prepare to welcome more children back.

A member of RoSPA’s national network of safety experts will conduct an on-site visit, in line with social distancing guidance, and they will request documentation for review in advance of their appointment.

A report detailing areas being addressed, and those requiring attention, will then be issued along with a RoSPA-branded certificate of compliance for display.

Errol Taylor, chief executive of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), said: “As lockdown restrictions are eased in the coming weeks and months, many will understandably be unsure about how to comply with the Government’s COVID-19 Secure guidelines, while staff and members of the public will be concerned about their safety.

“Our new COVID-19 Back-to-Work Review will give employers confidence to open their doors, and employees and members of the public peace of mind as they step through them.

“RoSPA has close working relationships with organisations such as the HSE and PHE, so policy and safety experts are at the forefront of workplace developments. And we pride ourselves on our data-led approach, meaning our services are always underpinned by solid evidence.”

The assessment costs from £184, and is available from www.rospa.com/Shop/Products/COVID-19-Back-to-Work-Review
