Excitement has been building in my house over the last 2-3 days as the permission slip came in with the green light to attend Fleet Live on Tuesday the 10th of October at the NEC.

I’m not sure if it was the actual show itself or the thought of attending a conference as an attendee for the first time in years!

That being said, there will be a raft of businesses exhibiting who work regularly with driving instructors to help deliver their courses.

There should also be some fantastic cars on show (great news for a petrolhead like myself), such as the UK debut of the new BMW 3 series.

But the whole fleet training proposition got me thinking…’How many driving instructors are involved in this type of training’, whether it be corporate driver training, speed awareness courses or even LGV/HGV etc.

Of the driving instructors I’ve met, the vast majority are happy to teach learners, but soon start to look further a field to build on their skills and add some variety to their work.

These additional training courses are big business and can be a fantastic way of supplementing your income.

We’ll be sharing updates from the show throughout Tuesday including some of the companies out there looking for more instructors, so watch this space.

Let us know if you deliver any fleet or other kind of training via the thumbs up/down buttons.
