Essex Police said 86 drivers will be contacted after the force received dozens of videos of vehicles turning around and going the wrong way along the hard shoulder and slip road of the M11 near Harlow.

No-one was seriously injured in the accident. The registered keepers of the vehicles caught on dash cam and mobile phone footage will be sent notices of intended prosecution. Homeless man injured after firework was put in his pocket Adam Pipe, Essex Police’s head of roads policing, said drivers ‘must remember there are extra eyes on our roads’.

Footage was passed to police through Safer Essex Road Partnership’s Extra Eyes campaign. ‘In this instance, the road was closed for less than half an hour,’ he said. ‘Being impatient does not pay and 86 drivers face a fine of £100 and three points on their driving licence.’
