The groundbreaking Driving Instructor Convention proved to be a huge networking success. The event provided a day of high quality, focused presentations to improve the professionalism of ADIs. It also provided fantastic opportunities to build professional relationships going forward.

Feeding appetites

One hundred seventy guests were welcomed at Saturday night’s inaugural Driving Instructor Networking Dinner at Yarnfield Park, Staffordshire.

This was held on the eve of The Driving Instructor Convention, providing entertainment, an indulgent menu and great company. The event was actioned-packed and generously sponsored by ADI Network. Their new CEO, Nicholas Dear, formally welcomed guests at the drinks reception.

Entertained

Guests were able to choose and enjoy a wide range of delicious food and drinks whilst being entertained by compere and comedian Steve Owen. Along with jokes, patter and an impressive repertoire, he also presented trophies to the Intelligent Instructor Awards ’24 winners.

Over 30 winners received their trophies from Simon Johnston, MD at AcciDON’T Driving School, who sponsored the awards. Whilst all received huge applause, it was Blaine Walsh who received a standing ovation. Blaine was collecting the ‘Services to the Driving Industry Award’, recognising his late wife, Louise Walsh’s contributions to the industry. Louise, a first class ADI and trainer, was also the founder of the Big Learner Relay for Children In Need.

Party!

Records also fell, with over £4,000 raised in the Speed of Sight charity auction and raffle.

“For many, the celebrations continued until the early hours,” commented Richard Storrs, Founder of Intelligent Instructor. “It was a memorable night for all, and it was most definitely the social networking event of the year!”
