The RAC Foundation is working with a range of road safety stakeholders on research to establish the effectiveness of road safety interventions in the UK that seek to influence road user behaviours.

Agilysis has been commissioned to undertake the research, which involves gathering information from a survey about the design and delivery of road safety interventions. The survey will be used to understand the resources used in intervention design; evaluations undertaken; the opportunities and challenges faced by those delivering road safety schemes; and to make recommendations for the future.

The survey will be followed by a number of focus groups with practitioners and a review of evaluations and design documents to establish effectiveness and identify best practice. The findings will be presented in a report and at the RSGB National Road Safety Conference in Telford in November.
