Young Driver Focus ’26 proves to be a big day for The Honest Truth (THT). 

After months of hard work involving many people, a brand-new partnership between THT and AA Driving School was announced.

The partnership will enable instructors with AA Driving School franchises to access The Honest Truth and all its resources for free, as AA Driving School will fully fund the program.

The truth is

THT has been designed to support the fantastic work instructors do every day, helping their pupils create the best attitudes and behaviours needed to stay safe on the roads long after they pass their test.

The partnership means that hundreds more instructors will have access to this award-winning campaign, and thousands more new and young drivers will have the expert coaching they need to make the right decisions behind the wheel, even when they no longer have their instructor sitting next to them.

Delivered very simply via a bespoke app, the driver and road safety program uses the platform to allow instructors to track their pupils’ progress through ‘the 10 Truths’.

Each topic is introduced via a two-minute ‘Truth’ video that opens up debate and conversation about the specific topic throughout the lesson. 

 Additionally, by using the provided coaching guide, ADIs can explore the topics in greater depth, helping them encourage their pupils to develop their own decision-making strategies when they don’t have a voice of reason sat next to them.

Better together

As part of building this fantastic partnership, a new look Honest Truth app has been developed for the AA, which will benefit all THT’s existing and new instructors.

This will go live within the next few weeks, so if you are already signed up to THT, keep an eye out for its release and make sure you continue to update your dedicated app regularly to ensure you receive the latest updates and additions. 

As part of their drive to support driving instructors in coaching these vital life skills with their pupils, the organisation has also launched its brand new ‘Honest Truth Community’.

This is an online platform available to all THT instructors.

The Community has a resources section with a wealth of free materials you can use to bring road safety education to life and make your coaching as effective as possible. 

There’s a help section where you can ask other instructors for advice, a section for you to share good news and resources you’ve found helpful, along with a directory of THT instructors you can connect with.
