Young Drive Focus will be held once again at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, London on Tuesday, 19 May, 2020 & Mark Magee, Head of Central Policy Team, DVSA & Dr Leanne Savigar a research fellow at Keele University have now both been announced as speakers at the conference!

Mark has worked in roads-based policy for almost 30 years in the Department for Transport and DVSA, during which time he has overseen and delivered a number of policy changes aimed at improving the education and testing of young drivers, and raising standards of training. He will be discussing how the DVSA plans to support young drivers.

Leanne is currently working as a research fellow at Keele University exploring fairness within police-public interactions. She has recently worked on the Road Safety Trust funded project Mobile: Engaged, providing academic input into projects focused on tackling mobile phone use by drivers. She will be discussing why we struggle to tackle mobile phone use by drivers.

For those travelling to London the night before to the Young Driver Focus conference, there will be an informal drinks reception for all guests, held at Davy’s Wine Bar, St. James. An exclusive area has been reserved in the wine bar with free-flowing drinks and there will also be buffet spread. Last year 50+ road safety professionals attended from both the public and private sector, all of whom have an influential role within the young driver field. The reception will be held from 19:00-22:00 and all are welcome to attend.
