Warming up for big events
Helping drivers learn from their athletic heroes
It’s going to be a summer of sport, and as the excitement builds, so do the levels of preparation.
While only some of us will ever reach such heights of sporting prowess, there are lessons we can learn.
At least, that is the view of TyreSafe.
Burning rubber
As the excitement of summer sports grips the nation, TyreSafe has announced the launch of its Be a Sport, Check Your Tyres campaign.
This initiative encourages road users to adopt the mindset of elite athletes by emphasising the importance of preparation for peak performance—specifically, in maintaining their tyres.
With a lineup of major sporting events, including the Euros, Wimbledon, the Olympics, the British Grand Prix, and the Tour de France, TyreSafe aims to inspire drivers to make sure their vehicle is operating and peak performance and safety through proper tyre maintenance.
No drama school
This summer, TyreSafe uses the crucial ACT acronym to help riders and drivers remember three essential steps for tyre care.
The campaign uses fun and engaging tyre sports stars in a range of scenarios to link tyre safety to the summer of sport.
A – Air pressure: Ensure your tyres are inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended levels.
C – Condition: Regularly check tyres for cuts, bulges, and wear and tear.
T – Tread depth: Make sure your tyres have a tread depth of at least 1.6mm, the legal minimum, for optimal grip and safety.
Peak performance
“Just as athletes prepare meticulously to perform at their best, road users too can take simple steps to ensure their safety and the performance of their vehicles,” states TyreSafe Chair, Stuart Lovett.
“Proper tyre maintenance is crucial, not just for safety, but also for fuel efficiency and reducing tyre wear. Our Be a Sport, Check Your Tyres campaign is about inspiring road users to take action and achieve the perfect drive every time they hit the road this summer.”
TyreSafe wants drivers to draw inspiration from the dedication and preparation of athletes competing in these prestigious events.
Just as these sports stars leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of excellence, motorists should exercise the same diligence in preparing their tyres.
This approach will help ensure they stay safe, save money on fuel and tyre costs, and enjoy a smooth and trouble-free driving experience.
Free resources
Throughout the summer, TyreSafe will provide tips, resources, and reminders via its website and social media channels to help motorists stay on top of their tyre maintenance.
Following the ACT principles, drivers can ensure their tyres are ready to deliver peak performance, just like their favourite sports stars.
TyreSafe would love all road safety professionals, including driver trainers, to share the campaign materials.
These assets include social media statics and GIFs, a press release template, a social media schedule and customisable print assets to encourage drivers to take regular action in pursuit of peak performance.
