Det Chief Supt Andy Cox is looking for your support.

Andy was formerly at the Metropolitan Police and is now Head of Crime for Lincolnshire Police. He’s a huge supporter of road safety with an enormous following on Twitter, including senior and high-ranking police officers, road safety partnerships and well-known celebrities, for example, Jeremy Vine.

Running ahead

During Global Road Safety Week (17th-23rd May), Andy has challenged himself to run 200K. The funds raised will go to Road Peace, raising awareness of road harm and injury. His target is to raise £25,000.  You can see more about his challenge here.

RSS (Road Safety Scotland) has already pledged its support for Andy and is encouraging others to support him too.

Help needed

Andy is looking for people to share social media messages, send messages of support, and to help raise awareness of various road safety issues. Of course, sponsorship would also be fantastic or donations.

Road Peace is making each day a different theme around road safety. For example, speed, drink driving, mobile phones etc.  Sponsorship starts from £500, with all the money raised going directly to Road Peace.

His just giving page is here.

Andy is also looking for people to join him to run, cycle or just to cheer him on during the different legs of his challenge.

For further information on sponsorship opportunities, please contact Sara Dowling at Road Peace. Sara can be contacted on [email protected]

We wish Andy all the best for a very worthy cause.
