Speed of Sight is seeking new driver instructors to help provide life-changing experiences.

It’s the end of another season of racing around the track. The charity Speed of Sight is praising its dedicated team of volunteer driving instructors. The enable the organisation to provide life-changing opportunities for the blind, visually impaired and disabled to experience high-octane driving.

The instructors are known as “Stigs” out on the track. They provide a friendly and supportive environment for drivers to build trust and feel comfortable. From the moment they step onto the track, the Stigs are there to make blind and disabled drivers feel safe and at ease.

When instructing drivers with physical or psychological disabilities, open and effective advice is essential. They need to be able to empathise and connect with the driver. This way they can ensure the driver feels secure and ready to embark on their experience. The Stigs do all of this and more and Speed of Sight is full of praise and thanks for their hard work.

Get involved

Now Speed of Sight is looking to expand its pool of Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs). The charity needs more help to pursue their mission of changing lives by providing high-speed driving experiences. The ever-expanding charity is looking to grow further into the future. But this cannot be done without your help.

By volunteering as a Speed of Sight ‘Stig’, you’ll be able to help provide truly unique experiences. It can change outlooks and the lives of the less fortunate and is incredibly rewarding.

Ton up and Ten up!

The charity is fast approaching its 10th anniversary next year. With it it wants to improve its national coverage.  It currently has regular track days at Llandow Circuit, South Wales, Teesside Autodrome in the Northeast, and the Three Sisters Race Circuit in the Northwest. Speed of Sight is interested in sourcing instructors in the South of England. This would allow new southern tracks to their roster.

Speed of Sight will be visiting Silverstone for the first time this weekend (2/3 Oct).

“There has truly never been a better time to get involved with Speed of Sight,” states  John Galloway at Speed of Sight. “If you’re an ADI registered driving instructor who’s willing to offer a day out of your busy schedule to help us provide our life-changing experiences, please get in touch today!”.
