ADI Keith (Woody) Woodward continues his efforts to raise awareness and money to fight Prostate Cancer.

His campaign began after he was diagnosed in 2021.

Silent killer

Prostate cancer is now the fastest-growing of all cancer issues.

Around 1 in 8 men will unfortunately be diagnosed like Woody.

Woody is now stage 4 and has fractures in his back caused by metastatic tumours, but still he carries on in the hope of helping others get diagnosed early and fight the disease.

You can read more about Woody’s story here, and you can donate to, however little, it all makes a difference.

Spread the love

Andrew Love, director of Let’s Instruct Driving Instructor Partnership, first met him over 15 years at a driving instructor CPD event.

“He was one of the first ADI’s the run courses about controlling nerves when learning to drive. He now works as an ADI in the blue light training arena,” says Love.

“Since he has been diagnosed, he has written a blog about his experiences & raised money for PROSTATE CANCER UK . This year he is trying to raise £5,000.

“From our last conversation he said that since writing his blog, five people have contacted him to say that because him raising awareness, they went for a test and they were diagnosed at the early stage, so were able to get treatment”.

Below is his first blog, it is full of great information, which makes an essential read.

My Story so far

Hi my name is Woody and in 2021 I was told the words that no person wants to hear, I’m very sorry to tell you but I’m afraid you have Cancer. It wasn’t just Cancer it was stage four Metastatic Incurable Prostate cancer, at that moment my world stopped turning and changed in an instant. Why me? How long have i got left? Its not fair!

It took me a while to get over the bombshell and then I decided to tell my story as it happened in words and videos in the hope it would help someone else out there.

If just one person can survive this then why cant I

This was to be my mantra going forward, I decided that no matter what i would try and fight this as positively as possible. There are numerous cases of people that have one way, or another survived a stage four cancer diagnosis.

Having a cancer diagnosis at first seemed like the end of the world but here i am almost three and a half years later alive and kicking. My website is my story it has surprised me just how many videos and blogs I’ve done. Anyone just starting their own cancer journey might find this helpful, I really hope it does in some way then it would have all been worthwhile.
