Established back in 2007, this forward thinking driving school is already an award winner. It offers driving tuition, instructor training, taxi training, trailer training and even under-17s driver training. Its qualities have shone through and led it to grow at an amazing rate since it originally opened its doors, with word spreading about its steadfast focus on great customer service for clients, along with complete support for its instructors. It is just one of the reasons why the business won a regional ‘Driving School of the Year’ award at the SME Transport Awards. A great working environment and open-door policy, combined with a dedicated office-based instructor support team, every member of what it describes as its ‘instructor family’ has a direct route to get through to the MD and senior management for immediate help and support when needed. On top of this, there’s a highly trained call centre to give the highest quality support to all customers, from parents and ‘L’-drivers to businesses and fleet managers. “We are always eager to help our instructors develop their skills,” says Dean Lowes, Operations Manager. “We invest heavily in our family by offering free training and support to move into other areas of the business such as trailer training and ORDIT registered instructor training.”

Growing Up

Though starting from just one instructor, the aim was always to bring a higher level of professionalism to instructing and the driving school industry, though the popularity and success that’s been achieved in such a short space of time was never envisaged. There are now over 220 driving instructors working with the school, and in 2018 alone they opened in five new areas of the country, offering what they believe to be the best franchise package around. “Our solo franchise and franchise + car packages are lower cost than the ‘Big Nationals’, and our unique online diary system ensures that customers always prepay for lessons to make sure all of our instructors are paid for no show or short notice cancellations without any of the hassle. In 2018 alone our online diary system saved our instructors more than £120,000 of lost earnings!”

Moving Ahead

Looking down the road, Dean sees the future of Pass N Go as very bright indeed: “Not only are we looking to branch out into all parts of the UK for driving tuition, we are also developing our commercial instruction side of the business to offer motorcycle, forklift, LGV, HGV, CPC and fleet training,” enthuses Dean. “Our overall goal is to be a shining beacon in this industry, supporting our instructors and customers with the best support structure and technology available. We greatly look forward to working with all our franchisees, old and new, on a very exciting future, and helping them to develop their businesses within our business by giving them the best opportunities to grow in this industry. We believe that every driving instructor should have the opportunity to find their happy!”
